It's official!
LB Carson Schwesinger has been named the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 11. He was one of six nominees for this week's award and marks the first time this season he has won the award.
In the Browns' 23-16 loss to the Ravens, Schwesinger picked off a pass from QB Lamar Jackson for his second interception of the season and led the team with 10 tackles. He added two tackles for loss and one pass defensed in Week 11.
"Carson, especially as a rookie, he's the guy. If it's rookie of the year, I don't think there's anyone ahead of him currently," DE Myles Garrett said on Nov. 16.
Schwesinger has continued to make a positive impact on the Browns' defense throughout the season. Through 10 games, Schwesinger is leading the Browns with 79 tackles – the fifth-most by a Browns rookie since 1999 – and has two interceptions. He also has eight tackles for loss this season, five quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks, and two passes defensed.
