Top 5 matchups 2024 schedule

The 2024 NFL schedule is here.

The Browns will play in four total prime time games throughout the season, play three consecutive road games followed by three consecutive home games and host the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

It's a schedule filled with marquee matchups, as the Browns will also host five teams at home who made the playoffs in 2023.

So, let's take a look at the Browns' top five matchups throughout the 2024 season.

Week 1 | vs. Cowboys | 1 p.m.

Week 1 of the NFL season always carries extra weight as the excitement of the season comes to fruition. For the Browns, hosting the 2023 NFC East champs in the season opener at Cleveland Browns Stadium is a strong way to start the season.

The Browns have not faced the Cowboys since 2020 – when they beat the Cowboys 49-38 – but hosting QB Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliott in Cleveland brings a unique challenge to kick off the season.

Week 12 | vs. Steelers on Thursday Night Football | 8:15 p.m.

A division rival under the lights for the first prime time game of the season? The stage is set for an electric night at Cleveland Browns Stadium as the Browns host the Steelers in Week 12. It's the first meeting of the season between to the two division rivals – and only the third divisional matchup for the Browns at that point in the season.

As the third division game of the season, the Browns have a chance to build their record in the division and separate themselves before the final stretch of division games comes throughout the latter half of the season.

Week 16 | at Bengals on Thursday Night Football | 8:15 p.m.

Another division rival on prime time. The Browns' schedule is heavy with divisional games in the second half of the season, as four of their final seven games are against AFC North opponents. It's also the second Thursday night game for the Browns this season.

This matchup presents a challenge for the Browns as they travel down to Cincinnati to face the Bengals on the road. It also could have major potential playoff implications as one of the final two AFC North matchups of the season – as well as one of the final three games of the regular season.

Week 15 | vs. Chiefs | 1 p.m.

One of the more anticipated home games on the 2024 schedule will come in Week 15 when the Browns host the Chiefs at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Browns' defense will have its hands full with QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce, as well as recent key addition to their receiving corps with WR Marquise Brown and another pass-catching threat in TE Irv Smith Jr. The Chiefs also retained their major players from their defensive line in 2023, which presents a challenge for the Browns' offensive line.

The back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions have not played Cleveland in the regular season since 2021, when they beat the Browns 33-29 in Week 1. The Browns also faced off against Kansas City in the divisional round of the 2020 playoffs.

Week 18 | at Ravens | TBD

Ending the season against a division rival on the road? What better way to close out the schedule. There's potential to have serious playoff implications and division rankings depending on how the remainder of the season shakes out.

Last season, the Browns and Ravens split the two games, with Baltimore winning in Week 4 and Cleveland winning in Week 10. The Ravens led the AFC North in 2023 and finished the season 13-4, just ahead of the Browns who finished second in the division.

As the second matchup of the season against the Ravens, the Browns have an opportunity for another crack at stopping dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson and affecting the rankings of the AFC North.
