Winning can be infectious.
It's an outward example of the work put in during the offseason and training camp. And it's a culmination of the effort put in throughout the week in meetings and the practice field that comes to fruition on game day.
The Browns have sought after that winning feeling throughout the first half of the season. They got their first taste in Week 3 with their 17-10 win over the Packers at home. And their Week 7 win can be that spark the Browns need to chase those results.
"One win is one thing, but we've got to turn this into a habit, an addiction," DE Myles Garrett said. "It's got to be an obsession to win and win like this. And so, we've got to keep on chasing that feeling."
The Browns have fought through a tough start to the season, winning just two games in the first seven weeks. They dealt with a quarterback change, a rotating offensive line due to injuries and overall struggles to find success on offense. The Browns' defense has persevered through each game, demonstrating their ability to penetrate and pressure opposing quarterbacks, as offensively they searched for consistency in the pass game.
But after beating the Dolphins 31-6 in a game that featured four takeaways – three from the defense and one on special teams – as well as success in the run game, the Browns can turn the page and start a new chapter of the 2025 season.
"I think a complete game like that ought to build as much confidence as we need as a team," S Grant Delpit said. "So, carry on to next week – I don't know how much better we could have played – so carry on to next week and go see (Patriots head coach Mike) Vrabel."
With a roster that features young players at key positions on all three sides of the ball, confidence plays an important factor in their overall success. The Browns don't view their rookie class as rookies anymore, but rather young players navigating the roles they have stepped into over the course of the season. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said that while they are young, their rookie class has the right attitude in their overall approach and preparation.
For QB Dillon Gabriel to get his first win at quarterback, RB Quinshon Judkins to lead the run game with three rushing touchdowns, and both DT Mason Graham and LB Carson Schwesinger to create defensive plays, it adds another block in their foundation.

The success of the secondary also contributed a large portion to the overall accomplishments of the defense against the Dolphins. For Delpit to record a sack and a forced fumble, CB Tyson Campbell to have a pick-six, S Rayshawn Jenkins to add a fumble recovery and interception, and S Ronnie Hickman to close it out with an interception, their ability to support the front seven against opposing offenses paid dividends.
"It feels great because when you do something like this, it gives everybody confidence," Jenkins said. "Hey, I can do that again. I can do it again and again, and that's what we're going to need for the rest of the season. Just everybody's best."
Their win can foster a culture of winning for the Browns. They have two complete games of film with their style of play that created success. They have concrete examples of another game where complementary football led them to the win, with all three sides of the ball contributing to big plays against the Dolphins.
As the Browns prepare to face the Patriots in Week 8, they can pull from their most recent win as they look to stack wins, build momentum and lay the next brick of the foundation for continued success.
"It's important to build sustainability as well," Gabriel said. "There's a lot that we will look back, and it's good in many areas, and there's a lot of things that you want to clean up. But I think that's what I'm excited about most is guys are eager. Guys want to get better. And when you look at the areas of improvement, it's encouraged, and we always encourage that."
