The Browns completed a second-round interview with Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the team's head coach opening on Tuesday.

He first interviewed on Jan. 10 and is the second candidate the Browns conducted a second-round interview with, as Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz also completed a second-round interview on Jan. 19.

Monken, 59, has been the Ravens offensive coordinator for three seasons since he joined the coaching staff in 2023. In his first season as the offensive play-caller, QB Lamar Jackson was named NFL MVP for the second time in his career. Then in his second season, the Ravens finished with the No. 1 offense in the NFL for the first time in team history.

Over Monken's first two years, the Ravens' offense ranked first in red zone touchdown percentage at 67.9 percent, rushing yards per game at 172.1 and passer rating at 110.8. The team also ranked second in points per game with 29.4, yards per play at 6.3 and total yards per game with 397.6 during the two-year span. The Ravens then finished the 2025 regular season with the second-best average rushing yards per game at 156.6 yards, as well as 11th in the league averaging 24.9 points per game.

Monken brings 37 seasons of coaching experience, including 11 in the NFL. He has spent seven seasons as an NFL offensive coordinator, including one season with the Browns in 2019, and another four as a wide receivers coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He also spent 26 years coaching at the collegiate level in a variety of roles, including serving as the head coach of Southern Miss from 2013-15 and the offensive coordinator at the University of Georgia from 2020-22. In 2013, Monken took over a Southern Miss program that had finished 0-12 the previous season. By the end of his third campaign in 2015, the Golden Eagles had posted a 9-5 record, won the Conference USA West division and earned an appearance in the Heart of Dallas Bowl. Then during his tenure as offensive coordinator at Georgia from 2020-22, he helped produce back-to-back national championship seasons in 2021 and 2022.
