The Browns are interviewing Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski on Saturday for the team's head coach opening.

Udinski is the ninth candidate to interview. Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz interviewed on Jan. 8, while Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher and Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde interviewed on Jan. 9. Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken then interviewed on Jan. 10 while former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel interviewed on Jan. 12. Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase also interviewed on Jan. 16.

Udinski, 30, was hired as the Jaguars offensive coordinator in 2025. While head coach Liam Coen called plays for Jacksonville, Udinski helped lead the Jaguars' offense to success in his first season. They finished the regular season sixth in the league in points per game at 27.9 and 11th in total offense with 5,735 total yards while averaging 337.4 yards per game. QB Trevor Lawrence finished the regular season completing 341 of 560 passing attempts for 4,007 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, while also adding 82 carries for 359 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. The Jaguars finished the 2025 season with a 13-4 record and won the AFC South, ultimately falling to the Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Udinski previously spent three seasons with the Vikings from 2022-24, first as an assistant to the head coach/special projects in 2022 to then the assistant quarterbacks coach/chief of special projects in 2023. He was promoted once again to assistant offensive coordinator and assistant quarterbacks coach in 2024.

In his first season as assistant quarterbacks coach, the Vikings finished in the top 10 in the NFL in passing yards per game, fourth-down percentage, passing yards per play and first downs per game. He also helped navigate the 2023 season with four different starting quarterbacks, the most in franchise history, due to a season-ending injury to QB Kirk Cousins in Week 8.

Then during the 2024 season, the Vikings' offense finished top 10 in the NFL in multiple categories including sixth in passing yards per game at 237.8 yards, seventh in passing yards per play at 7.38 yards, ninth in points per game at 25.4 and 10th in first downs per game at 20.8. QB Sam Darnold finished the regular season fifth in the NFL with 4,319 passing yards and 35 passing touchdowns, and sixth in passer rating at 102.5. Darnold became the first quarterback in NFL history to record 14 wins in his first season with a team and the winningest quarterback in a single season in Vikings history.

Udinski entered the NFL as a coaching assistant with Carolina from 2020-21 after spending the 2019 season at Baylor as a graduate assistant.

Prior to becoming a coach, Udinski played defensive end at Towson from 2016-18. He played in all 12 games in 2018, finishing the season with 28 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. He also played one season at Davidson College as a tight end before transferring to Towson in 2016.
