Storylines to Watch
- Who plays at quarterback for the Browns — In the first week of the preseason, the Browns started QB Shedeur Sanders against the Panthers to get him live in game reps. As they head into the second week against the Eagles, there is still a question mark of who will start at quarterback on Saturday. QB Dillon Gabriel returned to 11-on-11 drills in Monday's practice as he recovers from a hamstring injury. QB Kenny Pickett is still not fully participating in team drills, but has done work in 7-on-7 drills. The Browns will use the two joint practices in Philadelphia, as well as the second preseason game, as part of the continuing evaluation of the quarterback competition.
- How the Browns' offense handles the Eagles' defense — Regardless of who starts at quarterback, the Browns' offense will have a tough matchup in facing the defending Super Bowl champions in the Eagles — especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles led the league in total yards allowed per game at 278.4, as well as passing yards per game at 174.2. While the Eagles may not play all of their starters in the second week of the preseason, their defensive front presents a challenge for the Browns in the pass game.
- Which rookies stand out in Week 2 — With numerous starters not playing in the first week of the preseason, a handful of the Browns' rookies saw the field for the first time and made plays to help lead the Browns to a 30-10 win. Several rookies will get that chance for a second week against the Eagles as they look to carve out their roles on both sides of the ball and take advantage of game reps.
