K Andre Szmyt has earned the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for games played Sept. 18-22 (Week 3), the National Football League announced on Wednesday.

With two seconds left on the clock, the Browns field goal unit took the field for a 55-yard field goal attempt. Szmyt took three steps back and two steps to the left before he picked his line for his target. After the ball was snapped, P Corey Bojorquez secured the ball to hold for Szmyt, who took his steps, planted his left leg and sent the ball into the air.

Szmyt watched the ball sail through the uprights and time expired, and he looked at Bojorquez – whose eyes were wide with excitement and the realization of beating the Packers 13-10. Szmyt was quickly surrounded by his teammates in celebration, and they ushered him over to the Dawg Pound, which Szmyt jumped in to celebrate with the fans.

Szmyt scored seven of the Browns' 13 points on three kicks with under four minutes left in the game. He converted a 55-yard game-winning field goal as time expired to give the Browns the win over the Packers, and the game-winner marked longest successful walk-off field goal in Browns history (FGs made w/ 0:00 left). He also converted a 35-yard field goal and an extra point, all in the fourth quarter against the Packers.

This is the first career weekly league award for Szmyt. He is the first Browns player to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week since K Dustin Hopkins won in Week 7 in 2023.
