Under a gray overcast sky, the Browns were back outside and in pads on Tuesday. Cleveland is five days out from its first preseason game against the Bears on Aug. 15.

The quarterback rep rotation continued during practice on Tuesday while rookie WR Denzel Boston had a strong day.

Here are three main observations from the 12th day of training camp.

QB performances on Day 12

QB Deshaun Watson took most of the first team reps on Tuesday. QB Shedeur Sanders took the majority of his reps with the second team, while QB Dillon Gabriel rotated in for different 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods.

During a period of 11-on-11, Watson connected with WR Isaiah Bond on a deep pass over the middle of the field for a long touchdown. Watson also found WR Cedric Tillman down the right sideline for a big completion during the first 7-on-7 period.

Sanders connected with TE Brenden Bates across the middle of the field during the first 11-on-11 period. In the last 11-on-11 period of practice, where the Browns were simulating a drive, Sanders found WR Tylan Wallace for a solid gain.

During an 11-on-11 period, Gabriel fired a deep pass to WR Luke Floriea for a touchdown. Gabriel also connected with Tillman during the second period of 7-on-7 across the middle of the field.

Denzel Boston's impressive day

Boston, who is now taking most of his reps with the first team offense alongside WR KC Concepcion and WR Jerry Jeudy, made a plethora of catches on Tuesday.

Boston's first catch came during the opening period of 11-on-11 on a layered throw from Watson near the right sideline. During the first 7-on-7 period, Boston made a sliding grab on a throw from Sanders.

In the second period of 7-on-7, Watson scrambled to his right and found Boston racing to the right sidelines for another reception. Boston made another catch down the right sideline for a big gain on another pass from Watson during the same 7-on-7 period.

During an 11-on-11 period, Watson fired a short pass to Boston near the left boundary. Boston made another grab, this time over the middle of the field, on another throw from Watson during the same 11-on-11 period.

11-on-11 observations

G Teven Jenkins took most of the first team reps at right guard while T Spencer Fano continued to work with the first team. G KT Leveston filled in for Jenkins at right guard during the last period of 11-on-11. Leveston took most of his reps on Tuesday at left guard with the second team.

T Dawand Jones took reps at right tackle with the second team on Tuesday. Jones had been rotating in at left tackle with the first team before head coach Todd Monken said on Monday that Fano would be working with the first team as the Browns continue to solidify their offensive line.

The defense forced two interceptions on Day 12. S Tyron Herring picked off Watson on a pass intended for TE Blake Whiteheart during the first 11-on-11 period. In another period of 11-on-11, LB Nathaniel Watson tallied the defense's second interception of practice on a pass from Gabriel intended for WR Gage Larvadain.

LB Easton Mascarenas-Arnold made a couple of impressive plays during Tuesday's practice. He quickly disrupted a sweep to RB Dylan Sampson during a period of 11-on-11 for a likely tackle for loss and tallied another later in practice during a different 11-on-11 period on a run to the right.
