When head coach Todd Monken walked off the field following Thursday's joint practice against the Bills, he was pleased.

"It's fun to compete against someone else. Their guys, our guys, I've got a lot of respect for the (Buffalo) Bills. It got a little edgy, but not over the top. And that's exactly what you're looking for," Monken said. "We hit a few balls down the field. We hit some short third downs, so, you wanted to see it all. I left the field going, 'We've got some guys to work with.'"

Two of those players include WR KC Concepcion and T Spencer Fano, who showed off their unique skillsets on Thursday.

In addition to the rookies' performances, the quarterbacks split reps while the front seven made key plays during 11-on-11 periods.

Quarterbacks split first team reps

QB Shedeur Sanders and QB Deshaun Watson split first team reps during Thursday's joint practice against the Bills. QB Dillon Gabriel filled in with the second team while QB Taylen Green also took snaps.

Sanders connected with WR Isaiah Bond deep across the middle of the field during the first 7-on-7 period of practice. In an 11-on-11 period, Sanders fit the ball into WR Malachi Corley for a big gain across the middle of the field.

Watson had two big completions to Concepcion during 11-on-11 periods. In an 11-on-11 period in the red zone, Watson connected with TE Blake Whiteheart for a touchdown over the middle.

In a 7-on-7 period, Gabriel fired a pass to Corley across the middle of the field for a solid gain. Gabriel also connected on a deep pass with WR Luke Floriea, who went out of bounds on the left sideline during an 11-on-11 period of practice.

Green completed a pass to TE Jermaine TerryJermaine Terry over the middle of the field during an 11-on-11 period. In a 7-on-7 period from the red zone, Green threw a touchdown pass to WR Tylan Wallace in the left corner of the end zone. On the next play, Green rolled right after a play fake and found the end zone with his legs.

KC Concepcion playmaking ability on display

Concepcion showed off his playmaking skills with big plays in the receiving game on Thursday. On the opening series of the first 11-on-11 period, Watson found Concepcion deep down the middle of the field for a big gain. Concepcion made a contested catch on the play to come down with the football over multiple Bills' defenders. During an 11-on-11 period in the red zone, Concepcion took a screen pass from Sanders for a touchdown, bouncing off a defender on his way to the end zone.

Watson found Concepcion across the middle of the field towards the right sideline in an 11-on-11 period for another big gain. During a 7-on-7 period, Concepcion caught a pass from Sanders near the right sideline again.

Spencer Fano holds down left side of offensive line

Fano continued his strong training camp performance in both the run and pass game in the Browns' joint practice against the Bills.

Fano gave Watson the time to complete the big play to Concepcion during the opening 11-on-11 series, not allowing OLB Bradley Chubb to reach the pocket despite an attempted spin move.

In an 11-on-11 period, Fano helped create a hole for RB Dylan Sampson at the second level with a pulling a block on the right side against ILB Dorian Williams. Sampson picked up a nice gain courtesy of Fano's block.

Fano also stacked back-to-back good reps during an 11-on-11 period. On the first play, Fano stood up DL T.J. Sanders to keep the left side of the pocket clean. Fano followed that rep up by stonewalling OLB TJ Parker, allowing Sanders to locate WR Denzel Boston near the left sideline. While he benefitted from a chip by Sampson on the play, Fano gave up minimal ground on Parker's attempted bull rush.

During the two-minute drill portion towards the end of practice, Fano blocked Chubb into the ground, giving Sanders time to step up and deliver a pass to Wallace on the left side of the field for a solid gain.

Front seven makes standout plays

During the first 11-on-11 period, DE Isaiah McGuire flew around the edge to blow up a run to the left. LB Quincy Williams shot the gap and delivered a hit on RB Ray Davis and LB Nathaniel Watson broke up a throw by QB Kyle Allen in the same 11-on-11 portion.

DT Mason Graham tipped a pass from QB Josh Allen at the line of scrimmage during another period of 11-on-11 to force an incompletion. In the same 11-on-11 period, DT Coziah Izzard had a good rush for a potential sack on Josh Allen.

On the Bills' final 11-on-11 move-the-ball period, McGuire jumped on a fumble from RB James Cook to end the drive. McGuire took the ball and celebrated in the end zone with teammates.

Raheim Sanders posts highlight run

RB Raheim Sanders had the Browns' longest run of practice. In the final 11-on-11 period, Sanders took a handoff to the right and cut back, finding space down the left sideline for a huge gain to the Bills' 4-yard line. The Browns celebrated the long run as a team, piling around Sanders.

Sanders also made a handful of catches out of the backfield during both during both 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods.
