Thursday's practice was the final day of an eight-part install for the Browns. Each practice the Browns have focused on different play types and scenarios, working on them during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods.
"Today is insert play actions and insert runs," head coach Todd Monken said before Thursday's practice. "So really, that's what it is today, with a fullback or tight end insert and play actions off of that. And then there's some others that are almost auxiliary that we wanted to get in today. There are a few repeat concepts, just because as you get further along, the installs shrink."
With the offense continuing to rotate at quarterback and the addition of new concepts, the secondary posted another big day with multiple interceptions and pass breakups.
7-on-7 periods
QB Deshaun Watson rotated in with the first team during 7-on-7 while QB Shedeur Sanders and QB Dillon Gabriel both took second team reps.
During the first 7-on-7 period, Watson connected with WR Isaiah Bond over the middle of the field and completed a short pass to WR KC Concepcion. Watson also had two consecutive checkdown completions to RB Dylan Sampson.
Sanders found RB Raheim Sanders out of the backfield over the middle of the field for a nice gain and connected with WR Gage Larvadain near the sidelines.
Gabriel fired a ball back shoulder to WR Luke Floriea for a big gain down the right sideline.

11-on-11 periods
Shedeur Sanders took first-team reps during 11-on-11 on Thursday while Watson worked with the second team.
In the first 11-on-11 period, Shedeur Sanders found success in play action scenarios. He found WR Jerry Jeudy and TE Harold Fannin Jr. on back-to-back plays for solid gains.
Concepcion made a leaping grab in the end zone on a throw from Sanders during red zone work. The two flexed in celebration after the completion.
On a play action pass, Watson rolled to his left and found Floriea near the sideline for a good pickup.
On another rep, DT Travis Bell got through the offensive line and forced Watson into an incomplete pass. The defensive line came up with another big stop when DT Adin Huntington and DE Isaiah McGuire both breached the backfield for a likely sack on Sanders after a play action roll out to the left side.
During the final 11-on-11 period, RB Quinshon Judkins had two solid runs where he hit the holes with speed for nice gains. Sanders followed the run plays up by finding Concepcion for a short completion.
Watson connected with Larvadain over the middle of the field for a solid gain during his final 11-on-11 period of practice.
Secondary shows up on Day 8
The Browns' secondary continues to have a strong training camp, and Thursday was no exception. In the first 11-on-11 period, S Tyron Herring and CB Michael Coats Jr. teamed up for a pass break up on a deep ball from Watson that was intended for WR Kole Wilson.
In the first 7-on-7 period, CB Tyson Campbell mirrored Bond and intercepted Watson, which prompted a celebration on the other end of the field. S Grant Delpit tipped a pass from Sanders intended for WR Denzel Boston in the red zone, which landed in the hands of CB Myles Harden for the secondary's second interception of practice.
Coats made a play on the ball to break up a floating pass from Watson that was intended for Larvadain in the end zone during an 11-on-11 red zone period.
During training camp, the Browns have piled on interceptions — including the two on Thursday — which defensive backs coach and pass game specialist Brandon Lynch gave credit to the secondary's specific focuses.
"When you think about just schematically the 12 interceptions, it's really everybody doing their job and working on the precision and being precise," Lynch said before Thursday's practice. "We talk about endurance and precision; everybody in the league has talent and passion, so we want to really focus on our endurance and precision."
