By the Numbers Vikings Browns 10.5

The Vikings beat the Browns 21-17, scoring a touchdown with 25 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. With 21 seconds left in the game, Cleveland had one more shot to try and score to win the game. However, after two incomplete passes, the Browns could not reach the end zone on their final possession, and Minnesota's late fourth-quarter touchdown sealed the win for the Vikings.

The Browns took a 17-14 lead with a 9-yard touchdown pass from QB Dillon Gabriel to TE David Njoku with 3:05 left in the third quarter. Cleveland held onto the lead for the next 17:40 until the Vikings touchdown in the final minute of the game. Despite Cleveland recording multiple takeaways and being plus-two in the turnover margin for the first time in a game this season, the Browns couldn't capitalize and did not breach the 20-point mark.

Here are 10 key numbers from the Browns' Week 5 loss to Minnesota in London.

1 – How many touchdowns TE Harold Fannin Jr. had against the Vikings. On second-and-1 on the Minnesota 1-yard line in the first quarter, Gabriel faked a handoff to RB Quinshon Judkins, rolled out to the left and fired a pass to Fannin for a touchdown, giving the Browns a 7-0 lead. The score was the first regular-season career touchdown of Fannin's career and Gabriel's second.

2 – The number of sacks DT Maliek Collins had against the Vikings. Both of Collins' sacks came in the fourth quarter on third down. On his first sack, the Vikings faced a third-and-5 from the Cleveland 32-yard line with 10:25 left in the game. Collins took advantage of Vikings QB Carson Wentz scrambling to get away and grabbed hold of him. On Collins' second sack, the Vikings had a third-and-11 with 4:15 left in the game. Collins made his way into the pocket while the Vikings let the play develop and he sacked Wentz for a loss of seven yards.

3 – The number of third downs the Browns converted against the Vikings. During the game, the Browns converted 20 percent of their third downs, going 3-for-15 on third downs. Of the three times the Browns converted, one led to points. Facing a third-and-goal from the Vikings 9-yard line in the third quarter, Gabriel found Njoku in the end zone for a touchdown to give the Browns a 17-14 lead.

4 – The number of 10-plus yard plays from Judkins. Against the Vikings, he put together a 32-yard run and two 14-yard runs. Additionally, he caught a pass from Gabriel which he took for 18 yards. He finished the game with a career-high 110 rushing yards on 23 carries, reaching triple-digit numbers for the first time in his NFL career.

8 – How many times the Browns punted. P Corey Bojorquez punted a season-high eight times against the Vikings, averaging 45 yards per punt – including a 57-yard punt and two punts inside the 20. He had one touchback due to LS Rex Sunahara's feet touching the goal line when he was trying to down the punt inside the 5-yard line.

10 – The number of penalties the Browns committed in the game against the Vikings. Cleveland notched a season-high 10 penalties for a total of 78 yards.

29 – How many combined yards the Browns had on their first four fourth quarter possessions. With a 17-14 lead and a chance to increase their lead and get their second win of the season, the Vikings' defense held the Browns to under 10 yards on three of their first four possessions in the fourth quarter. On the sole drive that Cleveland had more than 10 yards, the drive stalled out at the Vikings' 42-yard line and took five plays.

44 – How many yards the Browns gained on their final possession of the game. Following RB Jerome Ford's 26-yard kickoff return to the Cleveland 29-yard line, Gabriel and the Cleveland offense had 21 seconds to reach the end zone with no timeouts. Gabriel began the possession with a 22-yard completion to WR Isaiah Bond and then spiked the ball, leaving seven seconds on the clock. The final play for the Browns was a 22-yard pass to WR Jamari Thrash that ended the game after he was tackled in bounds.

100 – The percentage of fourth downs the Browns converted on. Due to the Browns' 20 percent third down conversion rate, head coach Kevin Stefanski looked to keep drives going. He did so three times against Minnesota and converted all three times. On the first attempt in the first quarter with 8:15 remaining, the Browns were at the Minnesota 6-yard line with a fourth-and-1. DT Adin Huntington led the way for Judkins, giving Judkins a lane to run for the first down. The second attempt came on fourth-and-1 at the Cleveland 43-yard line with less than two minutes to go in the first half. Ford ran up the middle and gained the first down. The final conversion came with 4:37 left in the third quarter on the Vikings 11-yard line. Huntington again led the way for Judkins as the second-round draft pick gained two yards. On every Browns scoring drive, they had a fourth down conversion that extended the drive to help them get points on the board.

190 – How many passing yards Gabriel had in his first NFL start. Gabriel threw two touchdowns to Fannin and Njoku in the first and third quarter, respectively. He completed 19 passes on 33 attempts, finishing with a 94.3 quarterback rating.
