Browns record vs. Bengals

- The Browns have a 30-21 record in the regular season against the Bengals at home.
Storylines to Watch
- How the Browns' cornerbacks locks down Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins — CB Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II are set to have a premiere matchup in Week 1 as they take on the wide receiver duo of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase finished the 2024 season as the NFL leader in receptions with 127, receiving yards with 1,708 and receiving touchdowns with 17. Higgins followed up Chase for the Bengals' rankings, finishing with 73 receptions, 911 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. The pair of receivers will be top targets for QB Joe Burrow, and give both Ward, Newsome and the cornerback unit an opportunity to affect the game in limiting their success through passes defensed or interceptions.
- How Joe Flacco commands the offense against the Bengals' defense with new DC — As QB Joe Flacco takes the helm of the Browns' offense, his command of the offense and his ability to give his 10 other teammates around him confidence on the field will play an important role in their success as a unit. The Bengals have a new defensive coordinator in Al Golden, which brings questions as to what Cincinnati's defense will look like in the regular season, so the Browns can look to utilize the run and the pass game to move the ball down the field.
- How the Browns' defense pressures QB Joe Burrow — The Browns' defense has a difficult test to start of the season facing Burrow. In two preseason games, Burrow completed 18-of-24 passing attempts for 185 yards and three touchdowns. With multiple threats in the pass game in Chase, Higgins and WR Andrei Iosivas, the front seven must apply pressure to Burrow and early in the play. With DE Myles Garrett on the edge and DT Mason Graham on the interior, the Browns can use their attack style to pressure and bring down Burrow — who was sacked 48 times during the 2024 season, tied for fourth-most for quarterbacks.
