The Browns announced the game status for several players ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Packers.
DT Mike Hall Jr., who continues to work through his rehab from a knee injury he endured in Week 18 of the 2024 season, is listed as out. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and did not participate on Thursday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said his level of participation in practice throughout the week was part of his recovery plan.
LG Joel Bitonio, WR DeAndre Carter, RT Jack Conklin and K Andre Szmyt are all questionable for Week 3.
Bitonio, did not participate in practice throughout the week with a back injury. Bitonio said the back injury is similar to what he has dealt with in the past.
"I got full speed in the game there and it locked up on me a little bit but I'm working through it So, it's a little bit better today than it was yesterday, so it's improvement," Bitonio said on Sept. 18. "The hardest part is you don't know when it's going to pop up. But once it does happen, I do know what has helped it in the past, and now you're just hoping that the 48 hours and stuff will get through it."
Stefanski added that Bitonio is progressing, but they want to see where he is each day to monitor any improvements. If available, Stefanski feels confident in Bitonio's veteran experience to step into the game without practicing during the week.
Carter is working through the concussion protocol after sustaining the injury in Week 2. He did not participate in practice on Wednesday but was a limited participant on Thursday.
"He's done everything that has been asked of him, but we will just follow the protocol," Stefanski said.
Conklin continues to work through an elbow injury he endured during practice ahead of Week 2. He did not play in Week 2 against the Ravens and was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
"He's doing a nice job, working every single day," Stefanski said. "But that's one we'll have to see over the next 48 hours."
Szmyt was added to the injury report on Friday with a left calf injury. Stefanski said Szmyt "felt something" in practice on Friday, and he will have imaging done to evaluate the injury.
