High School Game of the Week

Presented by

Nordonia defeats Hudson 33-20 in the Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week

A thunderous start for Nordonia both literally and physically. The Nordonia Knights (4-1), coming off their only defeat of the season, hosted Hudson Explorers (1-4) in a conference game Friday night. The night began with a thunder delay, and the thunder continued to roll throughout the evening. The Knights began the night celebrating the 2018 Homecoming Court. Offensive Line #59 Carl Schaub was named the Homecoming King and Senior Payton Mika – Homecoming Queen.

The game on the field would not disappoint either. On the first possession of the game Nordonia scored in just 42 seconds. Brendan O'Donnell caught a 47 yd pass from High School Game of the Week MVP Robby Levak on the second play of the game. Nordonia would score again in the first quarter after a 3 yd plunge from Purdue University commit Nyles Beverly.

Hudson High School came out swinging in the second quarter after a disappointing start. With 11:50 left in the second quarter, offensive lineman Quincey Edge pounced on a fumble in the end zone to give the Explorers their first score of the game. After the lead was cut to 13-7, Nordonia would go on to score the 17 more points in the second quarter and lead at halftime 30-14. Knights Kicker Evan Wiehe nailed a 47 yd field goal to go into the locker room.

During the second half, Nordonia would hang on to the lead while allowing only 6 points in the 4th quarter. Nordonia led for 47:18 out 48 minutes in tonight's game.

Knights QB Robby Levak led Nordonia with 178 yds passing, 1 TD and 155 yds on the ground. Hudson's offense was led by QB Liam Brennan (12-34, 171, 2 TDs), as well as RB Brady Ludewig who rushed for 30 car, 168 yds.
