This week's Cleveland Browns High School Game of the Week presented by Ohio Cat and in association with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) will feature (2-0) Olmsted Falls and (0-2) Westlake High School on Friday, Sept. 13.
In this week's matchup, the Westlake Demons will host the prominent Olmsted Falls Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are coming off a 36-21 conference win over Berea Mid-Park last week. They opened their season with a close win, 28-27 against Brecksville-Broadview Heights. If the Bulldogs are able to get a win against Westlake, that will make them 2-0 in conference play and 3-0 on the season.
Two names to highlight from the Demon's starting roster are senior quarterback, Travis Monken, AND senior wide receiver/defensive lineman, Tyler Malin. Monken, a recent transfer from the well-known Berkley Prep in Tampa, is son to Cleveland Browns Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken. Malin, a University of Kentucky Wildcat prospect, is son to Cleveland Browns Director of College Scouting, Steve Malin. Â
Both Monken and Malin led the team in statistics last week against North Olmsted. Monken completed 80% of his passes, throwing for 63 yards and a touchdown. Malin had 7.5 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.
In 2018, the Bulldogs won the matchup 48-14 defeating the Demons. The Demons look to avenge last year's loss by beating the Bulldogs for the first time since 2016.Â
Good luck to both teams and stay tuned for a post-game report.
