Game Notes
Medina
- Medina comes into the game with a 1-1 record, beating Stow 21-13 in week one before losing to Hoover 42-17 last week.
- QB River Blomquist had 249 passing yards and three touchdowns in the opening win against Stow and has the ability to run the ball himself if needed. Blomquist will look to one of his top receiving targets in WR Kellen Hathaway, who has multiple touchdown receptions so far this season. WR/FS Syd Lloyd plays both sides of the ball for the Battling Bees and leads the team in rushing and receiving yards through the first two weeks.
- LB Jack Fletcher is the anchor of the defense, leading the team in tackles and sacks. Fletcher will be a big factor against a Wadsworth offense that has averaged 45 points a game.
Wadsworth
- Wadsworth is undefeated through two weeks of the season. The Grizzlies beat Barberton 55-7 in week one and won 35-7 against New Albany in week two. The Grizzlies are slotted as one of Ohio's top Division II programs and are looking to continue to live up to that accolade.
- Last week against New Albany, QB Brysen Hall had 315 passing yards and three touchdowns on 12 completions. Wide receivers Calix Lamp and WR/DB Cooper Gray are two of Hall's consistent passing targets. Lemp and Gray are both big-play threats, including Gray notching over 100-plus receiving yards in Wadsworth's opening game. RB Jay'len King helps provide a balanced attack for Wadsworth alongside Hall.
- LB Brad Watson and DL Boden Ballinger are two players who've helped the Grizzlies hold opponents to an average of seven points a game, being disruptive forces in the front seven.
