With 10 days until the first preseason game against the Panthers on Aug. 8, the Browns worked on their situational offense, including running the two-minute drill.

The practice included the players getting a break from pads after wearing them for the first time during training camp on Day 5.

"We'll be back in pads tomorrow. We can't go (three days in a row with pads)," head coach Kevin Stefanski said before practice. "We'll be doing a lot of situational work today. A lot of two minute (drills) today as we continue down our installation schedule."

Here are the top observations from Day 6 of training camp:

Getting down the field

Instead of two minutes being put on the clock for the offense, there was just one minute, but the offenses were still able to score.

In QB Joe Flacco's one-minute drive, he showed his experience by making smart decisions with the football to keep the drive going. He began with a six-yard completion to WR Cedric Tillman. With the clock running, he aimed to pass the ball to WR Kaden Davis on the sideline. Davis caught the ball, but the pass was just too far out of bounds for him to get his feet down.

On third down, Flacco scrambled to the left but could not find an open receiver. With the defense concerned with him getting the first down through the air, he scampered to the opposing 42-yard line and earned the first down. This play hyped up the offense on the sideline, getting them to jump up and down and scream after he got out of bounds.

WR Jamari Thrash caught the first down pass for eight yards but was unable to go back-to-back with Flacco as the pair couldn't connect on second down. Flacco stepped up in the pocket on third down but was 'sacked' by the defense, leaving the time ticking. The field goal unit rushed onto the field trying to get the field goal off before time expired, simulating what would've been a 51-yard kick.

QB Dillon Gabriel had his chance next after watching Flacco go. His drive started similarly to Flacco's with a short pass to RB Dylan Sampson for five yards. WR Luke Floriea was his next target, gaining the first down with the completion. Tillman got wide open for Gabriel in the middle of the field, getting all the way to the opposing 26-yard line before getting stopped for a gain of over 25 yards. The drive ultimately ended in a simulated field goal.

Pass catching chemistry

Through the first six days of training camp, the quarterbacks and pass catchers have been able to develop chemistry with one another. On Day 6, with the pressure turned up with two-minute drill and situational drills, the quarterbacks started to lean towards these targets.

During 7-on-7, Flacco found TE Harold Fannin Jr. for his first pass of the drill. After a checkdown to RB Jerome Ford on play two, Fannin was the recipient of his next two passes. In a drill with no offensive line, Fannin was able to give Flacco a big target to pass to.

QB Shedeur Sanders found comfort in passing to Floriea, finding him twice during the 7-on-7 drill. Gabriel also participated in 7-on-7, completing a pass to Davis during his reps.

Defensive resistance

Along with holding both offenses in the two-minute drill to field goals, the defense also had standout plays throughout team drills, notably to close out Day 6.

During situational work, Flacco was forced to roll out of the pocket and throw the ball away due to pressure caused by the defensive line and DE Myles Garrett. When the Browns tried to run the ball during the drill on one play, the front seven stuffed the gaps, holding RB Pierre Strong Jr. at the line of scrimmage.

During 7-on-7, CB LaMareon James broke up a pass that was going to be a completion, slapping it down on the grass. As they ran another set, CB Cameron Mitchell intercepted a pass at the goal line, stopping the offense from getting a touchdown.
